On Sunday, April 16th, 2023, the 14th annual All Girls Math Tournament was hosted at Portola High School for girls in grades 3-8. Over 120 elementary and middle school girls participated in the tournament, both individually and collaboratively solving math problems in the spirit of female empowerment. The tournament began with an individual round comprising a sprint and target round. Followed by a team round and an inspiring guest presentation from Portola High School math department chair Shelley Godett, the tournament was a success!
Congratulations to all the top individual and team scorers of the tournament, who received trophies, medals, and candy buckets. The mission of All Girls Math is to work to inspire and reach out to girls of all ages to become interested in mathematics. We hope that participants in this tournament were able to engage in a fun contest and meet other girls with similar interests in math. Thank you to all our participants!
