The 15th annual All Girls Math Tournament took place on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at the Quail Hill Community Center. We were thrilled to see over a hundred girls in grades three to eight, all eager to challenge their mathematical abilities through our individual and team competitions.
The tournament featured two rounds of problems, a sprint and a target, which participants solved individually, followed by a team round, in which they collaborated in table groups. We were honored to have Dr. Alexandra Florea, an assistant professor in the math department at UCI, join us as our guest speaker. Dr. Florea shared her inspiring journey in the world of mathematics and detailed the advanced work she now currently leads. The day concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing the top individual participants and teams. Congratulations to all of our top scorers and teams on their achievements!
Throughout the tournament, we held our customary bake sale, keeping participants energized and ready to tackle our challenging math problems. We offered a selection of our math books through our book sale as well. We would like to thank everyone who donated and all who attended the tournament. Your support is vital in ensuring that all our initiatives continue to thrive!
